The Low Temperature Lab is happy to welcome its first Dilution Refrigerator by Bluefors. The new cryostat will boost the experimental capability of the lab and the actual research activity on quantum technologies (and beyond!) to unprecedent experimental conditions and level. This is the first dilution refrigerator installed at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and, of course, one of the first available in the whole Emilia Romagna region.
The Low Temperature Lab acknowledges the project “Addressing molecular and Spins with MIcrowave puLsEs through Superconducting circuits for QUantum Information Processing (SMILE-SQUIP)” by “National Quantum Science & Technology Institute” NQSTI (PE00000023 SPOKE 5- Bando N. 1) for finantial support.

Group pics taken during installation period (yes, we already had lot of guests and visitors interested on the new instrument)
Few technical notes: the cryostat has a base temperature below 30 mK, cooling power above 250 uW (at 100 mK), and it is equipped with microwaves lines, DC lines, optical fibers and a superconducting magnet (see here for details).
